Ouachita Correctional Unit, Malvern, Arkansas, selected to receive Southern Folger's 2008 Award of Excellence!

Southern Folger’s 2008 Facility of the Year – At Southern Folger, the end user is our most important customer. Visiting more than 500 detention facilities each year, our crew meets face-to-face with the people who use our product every day.  In doing so, we are able to get first-hand feedback on our product quality and operation, which is vital to maintaining a secure environment for facility staff and inmates.  Ouachita Correctional Unit, Arkansas Department of Correction, in Malvern, Arkansas, was selected to receive the second annual Southern Folger Award of Excellence in recognition of their quality in operations.  In addition, all inmates, if physically and mentally capable, are provided daily jobs and GED training to pursue their educational needs.  The culture that has been created at this facility, and throughout the entire Arkansas DOC network, clearly provides the inmates with the opportunity to have a life of purpose and to prepare them for life beyond their sentence.  Larry Norris, Director, has been very successful with his staff in creating a positive and safe environment.  Congratulations to Director  Larry Norris, Warden Dale Reed, Chief Deputy Director Roy Hobbs, and the entire staff.
